I figured it was about time I revamped my Style Icon series, and who better to usher in a new era than Judy Jetson?! If you've been on my tumblr lately you will know I have completely fallen in love with the adorable white-haired, music-loving teenage daughter in The Jetsons (1962)! I adore her fluorescent, geometric, all-pink outfit that the people in the 60s must have imagined teenagers in this time period would be wearing!

01 Weekday Amelia Blouse €40. 02 ASOS Round Color Block Sunglasses, sold out. 03 ROMWE Shirt Dress, $42. 04 Pizzazz You Wish Modcloth Bag, $72. 05 Debenhams Pink Wedges, £13. 06 Shop with Romi Acid Galaxy Tights, $20. 07 Sock Dreams Pink Tights, $14. 08 LouLou Loves You Collar, £39. NOT PICTURED Petite Mesh Insert Skater Topshop Dress, $90. OASAP Transparent Candy Shoulder Bag, $43. ROMWE Pink Belt, $19.
When I'm obsessed with something, I see it everywhere - and these pieces just scream Judy Jetson to me! I also made a Judy Jetson Pinterest board just for the occasion! Who is inspiring you right now?

Kailey

Aww, how cute! You're just so creative! I used to love watching the Jetsons!
ReplyDeleteI love the collage you made, it's so cool! I pretty much only wear flats but I would totally make an exception for those pink wedges, oh my goodness. All of it is super pretty though.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I think your Pinterest board link isn't working quite right.
Thank you for letting me know honey!!
DeleteLove this idea. Judy Jetson is amazing style inspiration! Those glasses, shoes, ah everything! Love.

well it´s really interesting to be inspired by a cartoon! I vaguely remember watching The Jetsons when I was a small kid but didn´t really like them i guess it was "the future" that didn´t catch my attention. my favourite character was Deedee from Dexter´s Lab :) right now, my style icon is Audrey Horne from Twin Peaks. xx
ReplyDeleteshe was always so hip! J'adore!!! And I love your drawing, its too cute, your blog is spectacular!!
ReplyDeleteLoving this - on a side note, looking at Atomic Betty's character design...someone up there totally looked at the Jetson's for inspiration.

ReplyDeletesuch a cute idea for style inspiration! i love the mint and pink together!
ReplyDeletewuwuw I love it.. I used to look up to her when I was a kid.. she seemed so glamorous in that futuristic era, I so wanted to be like her... I think you just gave me an idea for a halloween costume.. I'm still battling that one..
ReplyDeleteanyway.. I get inspired with everything all the time, but to name a few cartoon characters I have to say the little mermaid is always on my mind; sailor moon (and her cat), I've been obsessed with the mermaids from Peter Pan too and the queen of hearts and Daria... list goes on..
cool post!
she is very cute, indeed!

This is awesome! Some of my style icons are cartoon characters, but I've never known how to express it (or admit it)! I'm inspired by Anne Marie from All Dogs Go to Heaven - the colored tights and red skirt, the peter pan collar, the hair bow and (of course) the bobbed hair.
ReplyDeleteLove the Pinterest board you put together for this - it's perfect for Judy Jetson.

ReplyDeleteThis is so great! I love how you're using an animated character as style inspiration. I wasn't very into the show when I was a child but the few times I watched it, Judy definitely was my favorite!

ReplyDeleteSuch a perfect unlikely style icon! I really love those sunnies, such a shame they're sold out.
