When I was a child, I would watch The AristoCats (1970) over and over again - I absolutely loved to be enveloped in the gorgeous color scheme, characters, and setting of the movie. Even now, The Aristocats ranks very high on my favorite films list, and I think the animation is vastly underrated. Here are some of my favorite stills from the movie!
What were your favorite films as a child?

Personally I loved and I still do 101 Dalmatians and The Jungle Book. I just thought a singing bear was the coolest thing ever.
ReplyDeleteI loved Disney films as a child, especially Pochahontas and The little mermaid. I really like this film too the geese make me laugh.

Aristocats is great but the best child film is The Beauty and the Beast. It's perfect :)
ReplyDeleteThis is such a timely post - just yesterday I was singing "Thomas O'Malley" and pretending to be a kitty cat. The Aristocats is one of the few Disney movies that I've replaced with a DVD, though all of the original Disney films are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteoh what a film! I love these old disney animations, the songs are amazing. The Jungle Book was my favourite.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen it, but the colours look delicious, like ice cream. I just watched a lot of Jurassic Park growin' up. :/

As a child, I was a big fan of The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, and Star Wars. As an adult, I love the kid-friendly movies The Princess Bride, How to Train Your Dragon and Ghostbusters.
ReplyDeleteI gave you a shoutout on my blog (Anna de los Muertos) because I adore your posts. Oh, and it seems that some of your older images (great job, by the way, they're lovely) aren't showing up due to photobucket being too full. :)
I loved anything Disney and Tim Burton as a child because that's what my dad would always watch with me. My favorite movies from when I was little are The Nightmare Before Christmas, Mulan, and The Last Unicorn. I wore out the tape on The Nightmare Before Christmas and I really loved how brave Mulan was! ^^
ReplyDeleteI don't really remember anything from The Aristocrats! Do you remember The Land Before Time? IT WAS AWESOME.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great film!!
ReplyDeleteLittle mermaid was my absolute favourite!

I have always loved the Aristocats, it's one of my favourite Disney films! It's very hard to pick a favourite, but if I had to choose I'd maybe say Beauty and the Beast. But what I really love about the Aristocats is the drawing style. And the songs.
ReplyDeleteNice screencaps! I've always loved this film, but I hadn't watched it since I was a kid, so when I watched it as an adult a couple of years back I was shocked at how unpolished the animation is. This is not a bad thing, though! We're used to computerised perfection, and it was actually refreshing to see something that looks made by actual people. It made me wonder, though, if the kids of today actually like the film or only the merchandise...
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely brill - love old school Disney illustration/animation! One of my wee selfs favourites was 'All Dogs go to Heaven' - I think it would still make me tear now!
ReplyDeleteI did a post like this on my old blog Rose and Muse and my favourite childhood movie would have to be Sleeping Beauty and The fox and the hound!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite was Thumbelina :)
ReplyDeletelol Love this! I have to say that Beauty and the Beast was my favorite. Got to love Belle's library :)

I absolutely adore this film, its high on my list too... along with 101 dalmations, aladdin, beauty and the beast & the little mermaid
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favourite films too :D I like how you've taken the time to show the variety of backgrounds in the film of all the settings in Paris, when you watch the film you don't take it in as much so its great to see these images and appreciate them and how beautifully created they are :D xx
ReplyDeleteI never saw the Aristocats as a child, but it has been, by far, the favorite animated movie for my two little boys. I, too, love the animation. Because it was so important to my children, when they were younger, it will always be my favorite Disney movie.
