Flamingos

Thursday, October 11, 2012

I took inspiration from bloggers like Kate Gabrielle and hung up some things I bought recently on the wall - the pinks look beautiful together and reminds me of flamingos! The floral dress and slip robe I picked up whilst thrifting - there are a grand total of 8 thrift stores within driving distance here, which is incredible compared to only having Goodwill where I last lived!

PINK PETTICOAT: Sock Dreams FLORAL DRESS: Thrift Store SLIP ROBE: Thrift Store ($2.50!) CAKE DRESS: Etsy

Other recent thrift store finds: a My Little Pony "softie" plush - complete with it's tag and brush still attached (only $3!), these adorable Disney books circa the 70s, barrettes, a Polly Pocket, and one of those Barbie McDonalds figurines that I *still* love!

What was the your most impressive thrift store find?
♡,
Kailey

  4. I'm completely jealous that you have so many thrift stores near you! I love your recent finds and the way you're currently displaying them. I have an entire box filled with happy meal toys that I was recently telling my husband about. I totally want to go through it! I know there are some of those Barbies inside.

  8. 8 thrift stores nearby?! That's just not fair! Although, if I got off my butt and looked for some, I'm sure I'd find more than plenty thrift stores in the NJ/NYC area. I'm just too lazy. :)
Your dresses are gorgeous! I just love displaying my shoes and accessories as decor in my closet. It makes it a whole lot easier to plan outfits out.

  19. I bought a bunch of Polly Pockets on eBay not too long ago, because I used to love them as a kid! Sad story: I actually lost 2 of my Polly Pockets when I was maybe 10 yo, and I was so sad! Never got a replacement too, because I couldn't afford them. So a decade or so later, I finally bought myself Polly Pockets. :-) love the things you got! I just bought a My Little Pony wallet from thrift store.

  21. Everything's so pretty! I've never thrifted, but I did go to a consignment shop last year. I'm planning to start going more often one of these days - my first trip was such a high, I nabbed a lovely pair of pinstripe Marc Jacobs pants, a J. Crew top, an Eileen Fisher sweater, a French Connection skirt and an Ann Taylor cardi. Massive label tunnel vision, but the prices were right! ;)

  22. Looks like you have been finding some wonderful thrfity deals lately! I totally still have a Polly Pocket thing like that - I believe that mine is green though.

Oh goodness, there are so many thrifty things I don't know how I can pick. I think I'm torn between my 60's blazer for $1.40 or my amazing leather tote bag for $1.60. Got to love Mennonite thrift stores that have no idea what they are selling. :)

  34. These are such great finds! I love My Little Pony when I was little (in fact I still have my entire childhood collection on display in my room at my parents house). I love storing new finds on my walls too, it makes me excited to get up the next morning and wear them. Unfortunately it also tends to mean they get dog hair on them. Thanks for the sweet comment you left on my blog xo

  44. I love your new purchases! I used to adore Polly Pocket and I wish that I still had all of mine they're just not the same anymore since they had to make them bigger because of safety regulations - one kid had to choke on one and ruin a classic haha!
