I've had pink hair for a couple years now, but I've always struggled with finding the perfect products for treating ultra damaged, bleached hair. I'd try products and like them, but I wasn't really blown away by anything, you know? But finally, I feel like I've found a really solid selection of hair products I love enough to recommend!
Hair Care Products
Having pastel hair is hard, but these products make it easier! I still haven't found the perfect shampoo that doesn't make my bleached, damaged hair feel TERRIBLE, sadly - if you have any recommendations please let me know!
Ritual Salvation Repairing Conditioner *
About a month ago I was sent some evo hair products to try out, and the first time I used the conditioner I was immediately struck by how lovely it lathered up, smelled, and my hair felt after rinsing it out. Over time, it's helped my hair stay tangle free and has become my holy grail conditioner!
OverTone Pastel Pink Daily Conditioner *
Truly a must have for any vibrant or pastel hair owner, OverTone is PERFECT for keeping your hair color vibrant in-between dye touch-ups. Besides dry/damaged hair, having the color rinse out fairly quickly is one of my biggest pastel hair related pet peeves, but OverTone's conditioners and products help so much! (If you are wondering, the Pastel Pink is a little blue toned. Down the road I'd like to mix the Pastel Pink with an orange shade of their conditioners for a more peachy toned shade).
The Great Hydrator Moisture Mask *
An incredible mask that adds so much moisture to my hair! My hair hasn't been anywhere near as dry since using this mask, and makes it so much easier to comb through every night! Their product description is pretty spot on too: "This product is like a patient friend, gently combing out the knots in your hair while another friend lays petals upon the ground to soften your walk to the morning bus".
Mane Attention Protein Treatment *
A protein treatment that strengthens your hair and I've been having such incredible luck with!
Trader Joe's Coconut Oil
Like everybody else I am OBSESSED with coconut oil, and my friend Roanne's recommendation of Trader Joe's coconut oil was spot on - it's been working wonders! (please excuse the grubby jar - I've had it for a while now and I got it out of the shower for this photo!)
BONUS:
L'Oréal's Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm & Total Repair 5 Extreme Instant Therapy Mask
These aren't pictured because I *just* ran out, but I've had great luck with the affordable and accessible L'Oréal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm and Total Repair 5 Extreme Instant Therapy Mask! And they both smell PHENOMENAL.
Hair Styling Products
Bumble and Bumble Hairdresser's Invisible Oil Primer
Now if you also have bleached hair, I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING HEAT STYLING. But sometimes, I don't have time to pin curl or put foam rollers in my hair - so I have to make do! That said, I feel like this Bumble and Bumble primer does a pretty good job as a heat protective! Besides that, it's a great all around hair styling product - it soothes frizz, has a sweet, gentle scent, and is formulated without paragons and phthalates.
Batiste Dry Shampoo
A recommendation from my sister, we both are incredibly impressed with Batiste's dry shampoos! Another must have product imo - affordable, easy to find (I get mine at Ulta or Target), and it WORKS. I had tried a few in the past and didn't get why everybody loved dry shampoo, until Batiste! The cherry scent is my favorite 🍒
Sebastian Shaper Plus Extra Hold Hairspray
Finally, this is the hairspray I've been using. I actually started using it because it was my grandma's favorite in the 80s! I like using this for extra volume. (NOTE: please use in a well ventilated area...!)
Phew - I had more to say then I thought haha! I get so many questions about my hair, I really hope this helps some of you! I am not an expert by any means, but these are the products I've been loving lately. If you have any hair recommendations, comments, or questions, please leave them below! I also am planning on sharing some hair tutorials soon - so let me know if you have any requests!

Ok, you are too good at making things like hairspray look beautiful and happy. :) Also, I have had issues with finding a shampoo that doesn't make my bleached hair feel DESTROYED as well. I have gotten to the point of buying shampoo and conditioner at hair salons made just for colored hair. But that's not my tip/trick. Stick with me here because this really works for me.... ready? Conditioner first. WHAT?!?!?! Crazy right? Well, it gives that little extra moisture so that when you shampoo, it doesn't take all the natural moisture you have. Then you can condition again if you want, but you don't have to. At least, I don't. Seriously, try it for a few days and let me know what you think. It will seriously save your life (well, your hair's life... lol). So, recap. Love you. Love your blog. Nice shampoo and conditioner makes a HUGE difference. Condition first. <3 <3 xoxo!
ReplyDeleteKeune So Pure Moisturizing shampoo (and conditioner) works wonders on my bleached hair! I started using it before I bleached it because I have thick, frizzy hair. It contains Argan oil and is sulfate & paraben free! It also smells absolutely amazing and is basically free of toxins. I also like using the Kevin Murphy hydrate me masque for about 30 minutes after I shampoo. Can't wait to try some of the things you suggested!
ReplyDeleteThe colour of your hair has forever been my favourite! <3 Although the maintenance must be a lot of work it's totally worth it for how cute you look! I think I started out with Batiste dry shampoo so I got what it was all about straight away. There definitely are some not-so-good ones on the market, but Batiste really soaks up excess oils and allows me to go much longer without washing my hair that I would be able to without it - such a lifesaver!

I didn't know that batiste dry shampoo was cherry scented!! I love dry shampoos but so far have hated the smell of the ones i've gotten, why didn't i ever buy batiste i just came across it, like, yesterday!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you use the TJ coconut oil?
ReplyDeleteHave you tried Olaplex? It's designed to be used during and after the bleaching process to offset/undo the damage done to your hair. I used the take-home treatment and it definitely made my hair feel a lot stronger. ~
ReplyDelete@Randi - Thank you for the love! :') <3
ReplyDelete@Amy - Eeeee thank you so much! I was really happy with how the photos turned out and I'm glad somebody else likes them too :') <3
ReplyDelete@Sarah - Best compliment ever! Thank you Sarah :) I am LOVING your idea of conditioning first haha! Honestly I hate how shampoo feels so much that I’m definitely willing to try it!! <3
ReplyDelete@Leslie - Oh my goodness, that sounds like an absolute DREAM! Going to read up on it now - thank you so much for the recommendation Leslie! And I really hope you like what you try. I’m really excited about these products and was so happy I finally had some to share with y’all! <3
ReplyDelete@Alice - Thank you so much! <3
ReplyDelete@Jessica - Ooh thank you so much - I’m so glad you also like it! It definitely is worth it to me :’) YESSS I love love love Batiste so much! A must have for sure :3
ReplyDelete@Eline - Yessss omg some dry shampoos smell so bad and strong! The cherry scent is pretty nice and they also have a tropical smell I really like as well (though I almost feel like it doesn’t work as well as the cherry??)!
ReplyDelete@Kristina - Hold it under my hot shower water and coat the oil on my hair, leave it in while I shower, and then rinse after 15 minutes or so! <3
ReplyDelete@Claire-Louise - I haven’t ever tried Opalex, but want to so so bad! I haven’t done any research on it, I’m a bit intimated to be honest, but I’m really curious! I’m also not quite sure where to buy it ;__; It sounds like a dream however so I’ll definitely add it to my “to-research” list! Thank you bb :3
ReplyDeleteThat hydrating mask sounds so lovely!
