Style Inspiration: Debbie Harry

Monday, November 14, 2011

One of my favorite icons in music, Debbie Harry has a style all her own. Harry's career has spanned genres and decades - from her history-making role as Blondie's frontwoman, to her roles in films (such as Videodrome, a film by David Cronenberg) - it is no secret she has made a huge impact in pop culture.

Framed by her stunning eye make-up and mop of blonde locks, her style shines - I would absolutely love to raid her closet consisting of structured blazers, slinky dresses, graphic t-shirts, statement-making sunglasses and berets.

  16. Debbie Harry is definitely a style icon. Even now in her old age she looks fabulous! I actually dyed my hair bleach blonde because of her a few years ago! Unfortunately I didn't look anywhere near as wonderful as her

    Great post!

  22. YES I love Debbie so much ;A;. I was completely obsessed with her when I was 17 and I still love her <3

My music collection is pretty heavily female-oriented but qua voice sound? I'd have to say Jun Togawa (I keep meaning to make a blog post about her but I can't properly express how much and why I love her gaaahhh), Björk, early Kate Bush, Yuki from Judy and Mary and Elizabeth Frasier from the Cocteau Twins. I really like ethereal sounding voices and also I guess weird sometimes almost uncomfortable, sometimes almost shouting, sometimes child-like kind of voices :D

  27. Yeah, I love Blondie! Debbie definitely is gorgeous, in a bad aS* sort of way. Emily from Metric sorta reminds me of her. She's another icon to look into.
