Though for many of us this year has been one of the most difficult, I am so endlessly grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you for your comments, posts, messages, likes, questions, feedback, advice - everything - it truly means the world to me. I'm sending all of you so much love and hoping you have a beautiful day!
Good morning! Today I'm sharing an outfit I've been wearing pretty much nonstop lately! As you know I am absolutely obsessed with cats - my cat, my friends' cats, feline clothing, accessories, etc, etc - so I of course fell head over heels (or, er, paws? Ba dum tiss) over this blouse from Samantha Pleet!
As you probably know by now, Samantha is one of my all time favorite designers - I'm always smitten by her clever, romantic, and inspiring pieces, and when I saw a shirt with a cats saucey face embroidered on it, I knew I had to have it! The black shade and fun silhouette makes it go with just about everything in my wardrobe - making it a purrfect stable item!
To continue the kitty theme, I paired it with a blush pink bow choker from Valfre, and my signature cat eye flick.
Happy 2016! Like everybody else at the beginning of the year, I have been doing a lot of re-evaluating and planning for the year ahead and feeling a bit overwhelmed, nervous, but also hopeful!
Here is an outfit that I have been wearing almost nonstop: a creamy lilac Samantha Pleet top - with a Peter Pan collar, silver moon on the pocket, and finished with a scalloped hem! I paired it with a tennis skirt, white tights, and my beloved pair of glittery silver boots I got in... I think it was 2012? Ahhh!
In this get up, I couldn't help but feel like a girl scout in training to be an astronaut - and wanted the pictures to reflect that! In my mind I conjured up an image of me "sitting on the moon", but no idea how to make it happen. But after an intense brain storming session, I went to the craft store, and, after several hours making a huge mess and leaving a trail of silver scraps and silver confetti everywhere (... heh?) my moon was created! I named him Marcello.
I'm really happy with how these photos turned out! I always have really grand ideas but never am able to quite achieve what I want - but I think this is the closest I've ever gotten to it and I'm so happy! Even if I *did* fall "out" of the moon four times trying to get these shots...
By now, I think my watermelon appreciation has been established. Novelty prints with ties to food is kinda my weakness - enter Batoko's adorable watermelon crop top! Paired with these metallic. pink (!!!) jelly shoes from the lovely ladies at Sun Jellies, I think my summer uniform is sorted... ♥♥♥
The Whitepepper is a brand I have loved since even before I was blogging, so I was pretty over the moon when they asked me to style a piece of their Spring collection for issue 5 of their darling magazine! Shout-out to Sophie for sending a copy of the magazine my way ♥!
I may or many not be guilty of owning a couple black dresses with white collars - but the moment I saw this Oh My Love London dress I knew I needed it. The perfect fit and flare cut, lace detailing on the collar, and gorgeous velvet fabric made it standout - and it's my new favorite little black dress in my wardrobe!
For the styling, I paired my new leopard print beret (a sale find at Modcloth) and my trusty American Apparel over the knee socks. I felt very Cher Horowitz from Clueless in this - which is always good! <3
Long time no see! As always when I disappear for periods of time, I've been buried under work/stress BUT I can finally blog again now that I've fought my way out of it! ;___; What better way to kick things off with a handmade pink cat dress?!
The dress in question being this darling number by Hello Harriet. I've been following Harriet for years now (!) and have always been in love with her drawings of the original grumpy cat. Harriet recently expanded her line of cat adorned pieces to include dresses. And she sent me one.
Made in a smock silhouette and covered in Harriet's signature kitties, this is without a doubt one of the cutest dresses in my wardrobe! The first smock dress I have owned, it has definitely converted me - it's just such an easy, playful shape! This dress is also really beautifully made and I can imagine it styled in so many ways - I think I'm going to wear it with a detachable collar next!
I paired it with a tote Harriet was generous enough to send me as well - it has a grouchy looking cat saying "no"…! Hearts in my eyes!
Lately I've been wearing my makeup a lil different! I've been trying to teach myself how to do eyeshadow ~looks, and I'm super into this dramatic purple eyeshadow inspired by 60s icon Catherine Deneuve. AND I finally taught myself how to apply false eyelashes and it is game changing. Anyhoo, sorry if this is boring but I'm super excited about it haha :'))
Super excited to be blogging again and I'll be back with more outfits soooon!! Love you guys <3
