If may only be February, but my mind is already dreaming of Spring! Though I am not really known for dressing "seasonally" (this gal was wearing pastels in fall... cough), Springtime gives me the perfect excuse to dress in all my favorite things and I'm dreaming of daisies, cherry printed clothing, berets, ribbons, picnics, poetry books and too much blush. Luckily for me, brands seem to be on the same page and I keep finding the cutest cherry print or themed pieces! Here I rounded up some of my favorites...
What spring trends and activities are you excited for?
For Valentine's Day this year I attended a prom event at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (or OMSI), with OkCupid! I got to meet a few of you there and had fun looking at all the exhibits! I bought this pink sheer confection from ASOS for the occasion - I felt like a fluffy pink cloud and I can't get over how pretty these balloon sleeves are... swoon! I paired it with a romantic rose locket and some fluffy flats I scored at Charlotte Russe for only $5 :3
On the way home from OMSI I stopped by a fast food restaurant and ended up snapping a few pictures of my outfit - how gorgeous is that neon sign? I'm a sucker for neon signs and diners with a retro vibe - it always reminds me of Twin Peaks!
Maybe it's because I'm looking so forward to spring, or maybe it's the rose themed makeup products I'm currently testing (look out for a blog post on that soon!) - but either way, I can't stop humming La Vie en rose! I also thought the term la vie en rose was an apropos way to describe this outfit - with romantic, dusty rose pinks and heart patterned tights, this look is also perfect for Valentine's Day! Then again, I rarely need an excuse for incorporating pink hues, ribbons, hearts, and pom-poms in my wardrobe...
I took these on a rather freezing afternoon * outside an adorable pâtisserie ** and an older gentlemen remarked "I'm cold just looking at you!" 😂 In general I gravitate towards solid colored walls for ootd backgrounds, and while I still like them, I feel like my photos tend to come off a bit sterile and impersonal for this reason - and that is the opposite of what I want! I guess I was trying to make everything look "perfect" - and when you are surrounded by power lines, cars, and trash it makes it difficult - but I'm going to make an effort to challenge myself with new, more interesting locations. Please let me know your thoughts on this, I'd love to get your feedback!
Hope you are having a lovely 2018 so far and I'll see you again soon ♡

** Can you call a bakery that if it's not in France or Belgium...? Heh
Finally, after having my eye on this dress forever, I was able to snag it for an additional 20% off on sale at ASOS! I am forever in love with pink (duh) and sailor collars - and this one has "Introvert" embroidered on it!
I've been wearing it 24/7 in my cosy apartment, and style it with warm tights and a thick coat for outings because I'm a weirdo who still wears dresses in winter hehe.
Though for many of us this year has been one of the most difficult, I am so endlessly grateful for each and every one of you! Thank you for your comments, posts, messages, likes, questions, feedback, advice - everything - it truly means the world to me. I'm sending all of you so much love and hoping you have a beautiful day!
Finally after years of searching, I have found the perfect faux fur leopard print coat! I remember deciding I needed one as an Edie Sedgwick obsessed 12 year old. She always looked so effortlessly cool in her coat, paired with a stripey top and the most dazzling 60s eye makeup.
I actually found this coat on super sale inside F21, and I'm so pleased with it! I paired it with this precious dress by Dahlia - which I first fell in love with when I met photographer and model Annika White in person this last summer, a definite highlight to a very stressful month! She was wearing it when we met and it looked so, so darling on her. The sheer front overlay, scalloped neckline and sleeves - perfection!
The Rose: Just what species or, shall we say, genus are you, my dear?
Alice: Well, I guess you would call me... genus, humanus... Alice.
Daisy: Ever see an alice with a blossom like that?
Orchid: Come to think of it, did you ever see an alice?
Daisy: Yes, and did you notice her petals? What a peculiar color.
Orchid: [sniffing Alice's hair] And no fragrance.
Daisy: [chuckling, as she lifts up one side of Alice's dress] And just look at those stems.
I know, I know - I keep relating my outfits back to Alice in Wonderland, but since I grew up watching the Disney version over and over, things like carefully manicured gardens and roses always lead me back to Wonderland... Standing next to this flower mural, I immediately remembered the part where the flowers turned against Alice and started making fun of her "stems"...!
Unique Vintage really has perfected the art of creating frothy, vintage inspired dresses. The dainty, sheer dotted mesh used for the sleeves and fabric overlay is just darling, and the traditional 50s fit and flare silhouette has my heart!
I gotta admit, "what's in my bag" posts are one of my absolute favorites - I always like to see what people consider their daily essentials! It's been a while since my last what's in my bag post, so getting this ASOS ice cream clutch was the perfect excuse to share my own updated essentials!
ASOS is one of my favorite places to shop for just about everything (you will see me singing their praises in just about every blog post - I'm obsessed okay!!!), and their Bags & Purses section is one of my favorites for their wide variety of cute as can be accessories.
Novelty bags are a weakness of mine - and so this ice cream clutch just about screamed my name! It's a fairly roomy clutch for being almost flat - I fit my absolute favorite lip product (soft matte lip cream from NYX in Buenos Aires), a kitty compact, my phone, and a donut wallet!
The second I laid eyes on this dress by Book of Deer, I was smitten. Lush, navy velvet in a retro silhouette, complete with bell sleeves and a big bow with embroidered bears on it - perfection! I couldn't help but feel like a witchy Disney princess in it!
I continued the cute animal theme with these ADORABLE bunny tights - seriously how cute are they? And the past couple months I have really fallen in love with jewelry, rings specifically - and this star ring I got in an ASOS sale for only $6 is exactly what I've been wanting! I'm curious to know what your favorite jewelry stores are - leave me recommendations please?
As luck would have it, I actually ran into some deer while shooting these pictures, wearing a Book of Deer dress...!
